Today at a party I was discussing attending festivals - my fellow party goer is off to Adelaide Fringe tomorrow and I shared my plans for #MICF.
Later (I don't know how it came up) he asked say tomorrow is the day your fly to #MICF, and you're at the airport and someone pulls you to the side and says "congratulations, you've won a mystery flight but you have to leave right now". Would you give up your 32 show tickets and go for the chance of an overseas holiday?
I didn't give it a second thought - "No Way I can give up this trip - I'd have to say now and keep on my way to #MICF". Although I'm not sure my bank account would say the same right now. I've locked in my accommodation, I've got some people joining me for some really great shows (especially The Shelf which I adored last year); and I really did book in my second weekend.
This was primarily driven by trying to get tickets to the newly relocated The Dollop live and to make sure I could fit in Adam Hills and Fan Fiction Comedy and most definitely going to the Dum Dum Club #DrunkCast.
Earlier in the day I had caught up with a friend who'd just been at Perth Fringe Festival. She really rated Dools, Dave Callan and Justin Hamilton's shows. I'm looking forward to finding out if I agree with her (I'm confident that will be a yes).
What buzz are you hearing from Brisbane or Adelaide Festivals? What are you keen to see at #MICF?
PS - if you're on Twitter (or even if you're not) check out the #TheTopOfTomsHead some glorious work by Reid Parker for @nonstoptom and a great laugh.
