If you hadn't already worked it out - I am a massive Podcast fan - so much so that after booking my trip to MICF this year I saw cheap flights to LA and booked a trip to the LA Podcast Festival.
I discovered Steele Wars, thought listening to I Love Green Guide Letters. I have to admit that having only vague memories of being forced by my older brother to watch the original trilogy, I wasn't sure a Star Wars podcast was for me - but then Steele created the perfect mix of my interests when he had Paul Dempsey from Something for Kate on in an early episode - SOLD!
After listening to the podcast for a couple of months I re-watched the movies in Machete Order (nerd level kicked up to 11) and I have still not seen Phantom Menace - a fact which I accidentally admitted while asking a question at this live recording that featured guest Tom Ballard.
These events a smaller and more intimate than the I Love Green Guide Letters or Dum Dum Club live records, but they're so much fun - even if you're like me and have only recently dabbled in the Star Wars universe.
My favourite thing that you get from either the live records or just listening online to the podcasts is Steele's un-ending enthusiasm for this film franchise. It's infectious - and fun - I've not been this excited about a film coming out in ages and I may or may not have clicked 'going' on this facebook invite for December (totally did, totally booked plane tickets).
Nerd it up - three shows to go - buy tickets here

★★★★ - Consistently Great
additional ★★★★ for Steele & Tom singing the Ewok song in English at the end of the episode I saw.
