When I realised that I had time to see Geraldine Hickey's Listen Out for the Castanets I was so happy. A fan of her work on Vine #VineNight with friends Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor I was really looking forward to the seeing her solo show.
An added old lady bonus being that I was already booked to see Justin Hamilton's Snacks in the same room straight after.
Geraldine starts the show, dancing wearing a 'vintage' 80's parachute tracksuit top - it had me in fits of giggles even before she uttered her trademark (I assume because I've seen her do it twice - that counts right?) 'What's Up Fuckers'?
Using a quiet, low energy delivery style to weave a whole lot of stories in to the main one centered around the lucky event of two parties in the same day and the journey from one to the other Hickey delivers a polished hour of comedy that kept me engaged and laughing the whole time.
